With beautiful brownstone, pre-Civil war housing combined with one of the fastest developing apartments and office buildings all nestled together, Jersey City is an incredible place to live.
Big On The Big Easy
This time we tried out Airbnb.com and rented a cute apartment in Mid City. It was located right next to the New Orleans Museum of Art and one block away from the cable car. The location was excellent as we got a true feeling what it is like to live there. We did all the touristy things such as the French Quarter, a tour of the Garden District (which I did see the actual house that is showcased in the article below) and we even drove a hour outside of town to visit Oak Alley Plantation (which is a must if you ever go). Of course, we ate, and ate, and ate! There was the must dine at locations such as Commander's Palace, Palace Cafe, to the crawfish boil by the pound! Amazingly the best meal we had was actually around the corner from the apartment called Cafe Degas....a french bistro. Hats off to the chef of this very TINY restaurant! If you haven't made a trip to New Orleans highly recommend it and check out the piece below.
