The Hoboken Terminal and Rail Yard will soon be getting a full-on facelift. Tonight in the Elks Lodge at 7pm, a community meeting will be held to discuss this makeover of the area surrounding Observer Highway. I’m sure we all know on some personal level how congested and frustrating Observer Highway can become on a daily basis.

This new and revolutionary plan will not only reduce traffic, but also continue to help Hoboken become the thriving city it was always destined be; full of unique character.  We will be expecting modern offices, exciting retail, as well as striking residential that Hoboken is well known for.

Convenient is Hoboken’s middle name, known for being a central hub between New York City and surrounding towns in New Jersey. The everyday commuter will absolutely benefit from these changes with a new enclosed bus terminal, improved PATH entrances, and better walkways for pedestrians and will include safe and easily accessible bike paths.

The Crossing at Hoboken Terminal will not only be eye catching, but this project also intends on helping protect the city from weather related events. Following the tragic events of both Irene and Sandy, this meeting with highlight the findings of how to secure the city, at no extra cost to the city. Improved storm water managements will improve future flooding conditions by redirecting the runoff away from the city’s sewer system.

The environmental and ascetic innovation of the NJ Transit/LCOS’s redevelopment plan is building for a stronger Hoboken. Please attend this public session located at the Elks’ Club: 1005 Washington St tonight at 7pm.
