Pulaski Skyway Rehabilitation ProjectCommuters Should Expect Delays On April 12, 2014, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, (NJDOT), will begin construction to replace the deck on the Pulaski Skyway that will close the northbound lanes toward Jersey City and New York for approximately two years.The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has coordinated with the Pulaski construction and will use the eastbound shoulder on the I-78/NB-HCE as a third travel lane to accommodate some of the diverted traffic from the Pulaski Skyway northbound closure. The shoulder travel lane will be in operation during morning and evening peak periods.

NJ TRANSIT in cooperation with the NJDOT is providing expanded rail and bus service to accommodate displaced motorists who wish to switch modes. These additional services are in operation now. PATH is providing increased service at Newark during the morning peak period, and Hoboken will accommodate additional customers for trips to Jersey City and New York City. The Hudson TMA in cooperation with NJDOT and NJ TRANSIT is currently forming new subsidized vanpools for commuters destined for or originating in Jersey City and Hoboken.
